Women possess an innate strength that sees them through their birth experience. The labor support provided by a doula and other members of the birth team helps women tap into and sustain their natural strength. I encourage mothers to read, take childbirth classes, and to assemble the best birth team they can. Once this support team is in place, I encourage mothers to envision the best birth for themselves, to keep an open mind, and to trust their intuition always.

As the mother of two children, I understand the need to provide early and continuous support for new families. I am a La Leche League Leader and have received my doula certification through ALACE to help families as they embark on their parenting journey. As a labor support doula, I provide two prenatal visits and one post partum visit. Post partum doula services can be arranged. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I enjoy spending time with my family, and reading about childbirth and breastfeeding. I have worked as a college professor of Spanish and Hispanic Literature (PhD, 1996), and as a fitness instructor. I have also practiced yoga since 1996. My interests in childbirth and breastfeeding blossomed with the births of my two children in 1999 and 2004.
