I am the mother of five children, 17, 8 and 9, and two step-children, ages 18 and 20. I am married to my wonderful husband, Dan, of 12 years and we have home-schooled for 11 yrs. I became a Doula in May of 2007, and trained through ALACE which has now become ToLabor. I have a passion for pregnancy and birth and believe that a woman’s body was specially designed to give birth. I believe that each child is a blessing and gift from God. I am committed to supporting your choices and will offer educational resources that will help you make decisions about your ideal birth. I will offer physical and emotional support during your pregnancy, labor and birth. I will offer support and encouragement to Dad that will enable him to be more involved and supportive of Mom. I DO NOT replace the father. It is my desire to help couples become closer and work together through their birth experience.
I will gladly work with all women; including teens, young single mothers, and young couples. I attend births in the Wilmington and surrounding areas within an hour distance. I will attend hospital and home births. I will work with you if you have special financial situations. It would be an honor for me to share in your birth and it is my goal to help you have a blessed and satisfying birth experience.
