Antoinette Palmer
is a midwife apprentice. She has been a licensed massage therapist since 2003 while also practicing Reiki and meditation. Being present in a gentle and holistic way while supporting the health and well being of others led to being invited to the births of family and friends. Upon attending her first homebirth Antoinette was inspired to train in the art of midwifery and make this important service more available to women and families. She first became a doula through training with ALACE in January of 2008 and next began assisting at homebirths in August of that year. She has since received training in basic midwifery skills, neonatal resuscitation, infant and adult CPR.
Antoinette enjoys the study and practice of esoteric and healing arts with an emphasis in cultivating regenerative, feminine centered consciousness. She and her husband Brendan often walk alongside the ocean collecting shells and sea glass and are delighted by occasional dolphin sightings.
Antoinette is a member of Cape Fear Area Doulas ( CFAD ), North Carolina Friends of Midwives ( NCFOM ) and the Wilmington Homebirth Meet-up group.
